Public Reporting
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) has specific public reporting requirements. These requirements mandate that states publicly report on various aspects of special education programs, which helps to ensure transparency and accountability in the provision of special education services.

State Excel files include aggregated Federal October 1 child counts:
2017-2023 Special Education Child Counts by Public Education Agency: Excel file that includes Federal October 1 child counts by PEA.
2017-2021 Special Education Child Counts by County: Excel file that includes Federal October 1 child counts by County.
IDEA Part B 618 Data
Section 618 of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires that each state submit data about children with disabilities, ages 3 through 21, who receive special education and related services under Part B of IDEA.
