Statement of Website Accessibility

February 16, 2022

The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) is committed to providing equal access and participation for all people, including the ability to access and process information provided via the Internet (or web). ADE is bound by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and measure against WCAG 2.1

To improve the accessibility of the www.azed.gov website, the Arizona Department of Education transitioned our web platforms from WordPress to Drupal in September 2020 and set the goal to complete a visual language redesign of the UI (User Interface) that included Section 508 accessibility compliance. During the design process, our contracted web developers were contractually obligated to test the site for Section 508/ADA conformance minimum WCAG 2.1 A/AA to the extent or degree that the existing ASET Drupal7 CMS components comply.

ADE works with the Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) to continue to identify, improve, and resolve accessibility issues. ADE uses Monsido to run monthly accessibility checks of our existing web content. Our agency brand standards have also been updated to include accessibility considerations in web and print products.

Should you wish to report an accessibility concern, please email [email protected] with the subject line: “Accessibility Concern.” Someone on our team will respond to you within 5 business days.
