Friday Focus Webinars 2026-2027
The Arizona Department of Education's Assessments section will host a series of Friday Focus Webinars during the 2026-2027 school year to keep you informed about the Arizona Statewide Assessments. Each webinar will be offered live on Friday afternoons, 1:00-2:00 pm. Each webinar will also be recorded, and the recordings will be published here following the live events.
Registration in ADE's Professional Learning & Development (APLD) system is required to attend the live webinar events.
August 14, 2026 - Navvy
- ADE is providing Navvy again this school year at no cost to schools and districts. In this session, Pearson presented information about Navvy for the 2026-2027 school year.

August 21, 2026 - Assessments Overview for the 2026-2027 School Year - Registration Link
- This session will highlight any updates to statewide testing for the 2026-2027 school year.
August 28, 2026 - Accessibility for AZELLA Assessments - Registration Link
- This session will provide an overview of the AZELLA accommodated forms, the process and deadlines for submitting AZELLA accommodations requests, and examples of additional accommodations requests.
September 11, 2026 - Using AZELLA Performance Level Descriptors (PLDs) - Registration Link
- This session will introduce participants to the ELPA21-AZELLA Performance Level Descriptors and explore how they can be used to better understand students' English language proficiency. Participants will learn how ELPA21's domain Performance Level Descriptors describe what English learners do with language and how to use them for reclassification, to support instructional planning, and to understand student growth.

- This session will highlight the most common test irregularities in Arizona's Statewide Achievement Assessments in the 2025-2026 school year and will provide strategies for reducing test irregularities.
January 22, 2027 - Using AZELLA Reports - Registration Link
- This session will help participants understand and use ELPA21-AZELLA score reports to make assessment results more meaningful and actionable. Participants will review the information available in AZELLA reports, learn how to interpret key score information, and consider ways the results can support conversations about student progress, instructional needs, and English learner program decisions.
