Module 3 Topic 2
Arizona Purple Star School Activity Requirement
Any school designated as a Purple Star School must complete at least one military-focused activity every school year, ensuring that military children and families are engaged in meaningful celebrations and activities.
The date and brief event description will be included in the AZPSS Annual Report, due by June 30th of each school year.
As per the Arizona Revised Statute, any activity related to the Arizona Purple Star School program must be politically neutral. This is a key requirement that we must uphold to maintain a neutral and inclusive environment.
1. Recognize the service members of the military and their families
2. Educate Attendees about Military Service in the U.S. and in Arizona.
Think
- What military holidays can you think of?
Schools are encouraged to hold other military-focused activities throughout the school year, such as Veterans Day, Military branches' birthdays, April—Purple Up Month of the Military Child, Fundraising to support military veterans or active-duty personnel, military honors at sporting events, etc.
