My Certification Log In Help
The Certification Unit is pleased to launch the new certification application system. To help educators log in, please view the following items to ensure that your account is up-to-date and accurate.
Anyone accessing the certification application system- Educator Portal (My Certification- Educator Portal) must have an ADE Connect account. If you need assistance, please see the ADE Connect area below.
Use the information below to ensure that all items have been accurately entered into our system.
ADE Connect is a shared login system used by many ADE Applications. If you have previously accessed other Arizona Department of Education applications such as AzEDCert, ESA, APLD, or GeniusEMS, you likely already have an ADE account.

The first time you enter the MyCert Application in ADE Connect, you will be prompted to provide some identity verification to connect your account to your existing educator information in the Certification system.
1. Enter your Social Security Number (SSN) and date of birth (DOB).
- If the information entered matches existing educator information, you will be prompted for the secondary verification (below).
- If the information entered does not match any existing educator information in the certification system, you will be given an error message. Please review the “Educator is Not Found in the System” section (below).
You will be prompted for one of the two secondary verification steps listed below.
- An IVP Card number starts with a year followed by a number (i.e. 2024A)
- An IVP Application number starts with the letters: IVP (i.e. (IVP...)
2. If you do not have a valid Department of Public Safety Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance CARD OR the IVP Card information in the certification system is expired:
- Enter your last name, phone number, and zip code for additional verification, and please call DPS (623-223-2279) to update your IVP card.
- If the information entered does not match the information in the certification system, you will be given an error message. Please try using any previous zip code or phone numbers provided to ADE.
- If you are still unable to enter the correct information, please call the ADE Certification at 602-542-4367 to update your contact information in our system. The Certification Unit phone hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
If you received an error after entering your correct SSN and Date of Birth (DOB), your Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card is not in the certification system:
- If your IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card was issued today, please allow 24 hours from the issuance of your IVP Card and try again.
- If your IVP Card has been valid for more than 24 hours, and you are still not in the system, you will need to contact the Arizona Department of Public Safety at 602-223-2279 to have your IVP Card information sent over to the Department of Education.
When you contact DPS please confirm the following:
- You hold a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Your SSN and Date of Birth are correct in the DPS system.
- DPS has checked the box for “Teacher Certification” to share the information with ADE.
If you have called DPS and verified information above and are still unable to complete the identity verification after 24 hours, please call the ADE Certification Unit at 602-542-4367 to review your education information in the certification system.
- The Certification Unit phone hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
