Achievement DTCs

The Achievement District Test Coordinator (DTC) is responsible for ELA and Math assessments for students in grades 3-8 and Science assessments for students in grades 5, 8, and the 11th-grade cohort. The Achievement DTC is also responsible for administering ACT Aspire to students in the 9th-grade cohort and ACT to students in the 11th-grade cohort.

AASA

Arizona's Academic Standards Assessment (AASA) is the statewide achievement test for Arizona students in Grades 3-8. All Arizona public school students in Grades 3-8 will take the grade-level AASA assessments in English Language Arts and Mathematics.

Computer-Based Testing: 

March 30 - April 24, 2026

  • Grades 3-8 Writing and Grade 3 Oral Reading Fluency must be completed by April 10, 2026

Paper-Based Testing: 

March 30 - April 8, 2026

  • Grades 3-8 Writing must be scheduled for March 30 or March 31, 2026
  • Grade 3 Oral Reading Fluency must be completed by April 10, 2026

Test Administration Information 

Spring 2026 Testing Mode

The Achievement Testing Mode Application was open in ADEConnect September 8 - October 3, 2025.

All Achievement testing (AASA, AzSCI, ACT Aspire, and ACT) is, by default, administered to students by computer. Requests for schools to administer paper tests must be received within ADEConnect during the window provided above. Requests must explain special circumstances for which paper testing is needed.

No action needs to be taken if school site(s) will administer computer-based assessments in Spring 2026.

Grade 3 Oral Reading Fluency

The Oral Reading Fluency (ORF) test section is administered to all third-grade students.

Special Paper Version Tests 

The following Special Paper Version (SPV) test formats are available to meet the needs of students who cannot access the test content through computer-based testing: Braille, large print, and regular print paper.

SPV test requests must be submitted to ADE for review and approval September 10, 2025 - February 6, 2026.

ACT Aspire Exemplars and TestNav Tutorial - login information is not required

  • To access Exemplars, scroll to the bottom of the screen and select "Exemplars." Next, select the content area, followed by the Exemplar for "Early High School Grade 9 & 10."
  • Online Exemplars are intended to provide students with experience navigating TestNav and interacting with the various test item formats. The online Exemplars are not meant to be scored, and a full answer key is not provided.

Please Note: For AzSCI to be administered as a paper test, all student responses must be transferred into the TestNav online testing platform, after the students have completed testing, by a Test Administrator who has been trained and who has signed a test security agreement. All student responses must be entered in TestNav before the end of the AzSCI test window to be scored.

ACT Test Dates 

Spring 2026 Testing

For Spring 2026, schools may utilize both published state ACT windows in order to assess all Cohort 2027 students. Schools are encouraged to administer the ACT during the first test window and to use the second test window, as needed, to complete any makeup testing. Schools administering the ACT on paper may also use the online test dates for makeup testing. Any schools that choose to administer the ACT during only the second test window will not have an additional ACT window to use for makeup testing.

Achievement District Test Coordinators must select the ACT test window for each school in ACT's PearsonAccessnext platform in November 2025.

ACT Test Window 1:

  • Paper (Standard): March 24, 2026
  • Paper (Accommodations): March 24-27, March 30-April 3, 2026
  • Online (Standard and Accommodations): March 24-27, March 30-April 3, 2026

Mark your email with a High Importance tag. Include a phone number where we can contact you if necessary. ADE will respond as quickly as possible. Do not leave a voice message, as these calls are not responded to as quickly as emails. In your email, include any error message or code the student or Test Administrator is receiving.
