SUN Bucks (Summer EBT/S-EBT): Information for Parents
The Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer Program (Summer-EBT/SUN Bucks) provides grocery-buying benefits to low-income families with school-aged children who lose access to free or reduced-price school meals when schools are closed for the summer.

All regulations are specific to operating the programs under the direction of ADE.
Schools that participate in any Child Nutrition Program are required to follow a set of regulations or rules, around the foods they are allowed to serve. Meals and menus served in schools are designed to be both healthy and appealing for the students that eat them. Schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs must meet the following standards:
Is there any way for schools to serve meals to all students for free?
Some schools use a program called the “Community Eligibility Provision” or “Special Assistance Provision” that helps them serve all meals free. Contact your local school to see if they are part of that program.
Collecting Free and Reduced-Price Data for School Year 2024-2025
For the 2024-2025 school year, in most school districts, families will need to complete an application through their school to determine if their household is eligible for free or reduced-price school meals, as was done last year. Things to know:
