Developing and Strengthening the Future Workforce of Arizona

The Student Industry Partnership (SIP), developed by the Arizona Department of Education, is designed to deliver high-quality, inclusive education that equips learners with the knowledge, skills, and real-world experiences needed to succeed in Arizona's evolving workforce.

Through strong educator support, meaningful industry alignment, and collaborative community partnerships, the Arizona Department of Education is committed to advancing Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Adult Education programs that are relevant, effective, and responsive to both student career goals and workforce demands.

Why the Student Industry Partnership Matters

Through community collaboration, Career and Technical Education and Adult Education:

  • Prepares students for high-demand, high-quality jobs
  • Ensures training is reflective of industry-recognized skills and credentials
  • Develop and connect employers to a workforce ready talent pipeline

Through education, Arizona is building stronger pathways, stronger partnerships, and a stronger workforce.

Arizona Career and Technical Education

Our Vision: Every Arizona student has a developed career pathway

Our Mission: Career and Technical Education will engage Arizona learners in relevant experiences leading to purposeful and economically viable careers.

Arizona Adult Education and High School Equivalency Services

Arizona's economy depends on a skilled workforce, yet many Arizona adults face barriers to employment and advancement:

  • More than 500,000 Arizonans are supporting themselves and their families without a high school diploma
  • Almost 400,000 more have completed high school but lack strong literacy and math skills or credentials required for in-demand jobs

Adult Education focuses on reskilling and upskilling Arizona adults to open doors to meaningful careers, family-sustaining wages, and long-term stability.

Adult Education and High School Equivalency Services are available for students aged 16+ who are not enrolled in a K12 school. Adult Education assists students with:

  • Improving literacy and academic skills
  • Improving English language proficiency skills
  • Earning a High School Equivalency Diploma
  • Workforce preparation and employability skills
  • Integrated education and workforce training for a specific occupation or occupational cluster
  • Transition to post-secondary education and/or employment.

These components are provided concurrently and contextually, allowing students to build academic, employability, and technical skills at the same time, accelerating progress toward education and career advancement.
