The Arizona Department of Education's Assessment section has scheduled a series of Friday Focus Webinars during the 2024-2025 school year to keep you informed about the "State of Assessments" in Arizona. Each webinar will be offered live on Friday afternoons, 1:00-2:00 pm. Registration in ADE's Professional Learning & Development (APLD) system is required to attend the live webinar events. ACT Aspire is the statewide high school achievement test for Arizona students in the Grade 9 cohort. ACT Aspire will be administered to students in Cohort 2029 in the 2025-2026 school year.
While ACT Aspire has been discontinued at a national level, Arizona will continue to administer the ACT Aspire Early High School assessments to students in the Grade 9 cohort for the life of our contract. As of November 1, 2023, support for ACT Aspire has now shifted from ACT to Pearson.
The AZELLA Placement Test window begins on the the district's or charter's first instructional day of the school year. However, ADE has approved a 2-calendar week jump start prior to the first day of school to begin Placement testing.
