This year's summit featured National speakers Jeff Poulin, and Jamie Sparks, speaking on Funding Opportunities in Arts and Physical Education, with local educators providing sessions on exploring practices in:
- Social, Emotional Learning in Arts and Physical Education
- Cross-Curricular Collaboration
- Arts and Physical Education Assessment Strategies
Jeff M. Poulin is the founder of Creative Generation, working to inspire, connect, and amplify the social change work of young creatives and those committed to cultivating their creativity. As a recognized leader in the education and cultural fields, he previously led nationwide arts education programs in Europe and the U.S., and currently directs large-scale initiatives for global NGOs. A seasoned educator, Jeff teaches at several universities and has spoken to audiences across the United States and in 25+ countries around the globe. Jeff is a tap dancer and mentors young dancers in the U.S. and in the U.K.
Jamie Sparks is a Past-President of SHAPE America, leading the organization during the beginning of the global COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Sparks is the National School Health Program Manager for ETR, a national non-profit working to advance health equity. Before joining ETR in 2019, Jamie served as the Coordinated School Health Director for the Kentucky Department of Education from 2010-2018. In addition, Jamie has served on various leadership roles with state and national associations including the American School Health Association, The Society of State Leaders, and Kentucky SHAPE, including currently serving as the Executive Director.
