The VIRTUAL Practitioners of Unique Populations Meeting (previously known as PELL) is a professional learning opportunity for district and site level Administrators, EL Coordinators, Directors and Instructional Support Staff (Content Specialists, Academic Coaches) involved in the implementation and oversight of programs for Arizona’s English learners (ELs), Migrant students, Homeless students and students in Foster Care.
This full-day virtual event will include a Keynote Presentation and General Session for the dissemination of timely information relevant to the Unique Populations Unit as well as smaller, collaborative breakout sessions on a variety of topics of interest and importance. The full agenda and session information will be communicated as they become available.
Unique Populations is thrilled to welcome Dominique Smith – award-winning educator, author and student advocate - as the keynote presenter for this event. Participants will receive a copy of his book Building Equity: Policies and Practices to Empower All Learners.
General Session will begin promptly at 8:30am and includes keynote, general program information from the Unique Populations Unit as well as Assessment and Accountability updates.
