Desert Ridge High School- ECAP Exemplar School
Using Google Forms, DRHS surveys all seniors on post-high school plans during the fourth quarter. They also gather scholarship data, AP testing data, SAT/ACT data, and CTE data to build a College/Career Readiness picture for their school. DRHS has the highest number of students in their district enrolled in East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT), as well as one of the largest dual enrollment programs in the East Valley.

- In their first semester, all freshman work with their school counselor to create a four-year plan, driven by individual postsecondary and career goals.
- ECAP lessons are taught to each grade level, utilizing grade-level appropriate information and activities.
- The Counseling Department has trained their Senior English Instructors on the AzCIS program to help students create their senior portfolios.
- ECAP lessons aligned with the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) standards.
- Whole-school buy-in created a Comprehensive College and Career-Ready culture.
- Weekly advisory periods are used to hold workshops like College Application Workshops, Resume Building lessons, and FAFSA workshops.
- Senior Signing Day: An annual recognition of all their students who have made commitments to further their training and/or education after high school.
Desert Ridge High School provides students with the opportunity to explore College and Career options throughout their four years in high school. In the first two years, an emphasis is placed on planning and interest/strength exploration. In the last two years, students focus on potential career paths and the skills and education necessary to reach their goals.
