Data Mapping Website – This year our Arizona Department of Education CTE Data Portal will be transitioning away from direct entry (or upload) of most data into the application.  Most of the Federal Perkins data will be submitted from your district Student Information System (SIS) and into the Arizona Education Data Standards (AzEDS) system.  On March 14, 2019 notification was sent to CTE Directors, CTE Data Reporters, Secondary Business Managers, and Secondary Superintendents in order to provide notification of this change.  The reason for this transition is to improve the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the data utilized in the CTE Data Portal.  It will also reduce the district workload by requiring a single flow of data into the AzEDS system, rather than having an additional, separate upload of information into the CTE Data Portal.

Please see the complete listing of data elements that will be pulled from the AzEDS system into the CTE Data Portal over the course of this next year.  It is important that this list be shared with district registrar staff (or whoever is responsible for submitting the district data into the AzEDS system).  The majority of the data elements listed on the spreadsheet have been available for submission through your SIS system in previous years.  This is simply a complete listing of the CTE data elements that will be required beginning with the 2019-2020 school year.

Please Note:  Four of the data elements listed on the spreadsheet have been highlighted in green.  These four data elements are new items for the SIS vendors.  ADE has notified the SIS vendors of the new data elements, however, districts MUST get in touch with their vendor to make sure that this year’s version of your SIS application is able to capture these new data elements.

It is a requirement of the Perkins V: Strengthening Career & Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, that all funding subrecipients be able to submit the required data.  Failure to submit the required data could result in a negative impact on a district’s Perkins allocation.  Additionally, the data submitted to the CTE Data Portal is used to determine state funding for the CTE State Priority grant.  The intent of this notification is to help avoid any disruption in the funding which supports district career and technical education programs.  Please contact your SIS vendor to ensure that all required data will be successfully submitted this year.

Further updates will be sent as the transition proceeds, however, ADE needs your assistance to initiate this first step in the process.  Please do not hesitate to get in touch with the ADE staff noted above if you have any questions related to this communication.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
