Public Comment - Public Survey for the Alternate English Language Proficiency Standards (Alt ELPS) for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities
The purpose of this survey is to elicit feedback from stakeholders regarding the appropriateness of the Alternate ELPS. These Standards were developed with multiple state and educator feedback in 2019, specifically for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities. These Alternate ELPS are very similar to the 2019 Arizona English Language Proficiency Standards. In addition, these Standards will be aligned to the development of the new Collaborative for the Alternate Assessment of English Language Proficiency (CAAELP) assessment.
In this survey, respondents are asked to review for appropriateness for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities.
Note: These Standards were finalized in 2019 and are being adopted for use of the new Alternate ELP assessment by states individually. There will not be an opportunity to revise these Standards at this time.
