2019 Biosecurity Poster Competition: Entries Due Friday September 27th

Encourage your students to visualize their learning about Biosecurity through the visual arts! A great opportunity for arts and science collaboration, Arizona State University’s Environmental Health and Safety department is hosting the second Biosafety and Biosecurity Month poster contest. This year’s Biosecurity Poster Contest is open to students grades 3-8. Students are encouraged to respond to the theme “What does biosafety mean to you?”

Winners will be notified by Friday October 11th, 2019 and recognized in an awards ceremony on Tuesday October 29th from 3-5pm at ASU.

ASU Educators’ Summer Art Studio & Curriculum Workshop

Creating Innovative Pedagogy though Arts-Based Inquiry

The School of Art at Arizona State University is offering a 4-day studio art workshop for Art Educators. The 4-day workshop will offer a range of experimental art methods and multimedia experimentation along with inquiry-based curriculum development. Studio workshops include expressive painting, and sculptural design with a range of natural materials. The workshop is designed to give attendees an immersive studio art experience, where teachers will gain exposure and practice with a range of studio processes and develop them individually with open studio time and one-on-one feedback. The week will culminate in an open studio discussion and reception.

The workshop also earns teachers with 30 hours of Continuing Professional Development hours. All materials will be provided.

Workshop Dates: June 11-14, 9a-5:30p
