Assessment Update (4/25/18)

Districts/Charter/Schools

Please Read

Test Window for MSAA closes on May 4, 2018. Test Window for AzMERIT Reading and Math will close Friday, April 27.

District and School Test Coordinators should be monitoring students that have not completed the AzMERIT Reading and Math tests closely to verify that all students expected to test have been tested.

To Monitor Testing: In TIDE, under Administering Tests select Plan and Manage Testing. Step 1: Chose what test to monitor or select All. Step 2: School or select All. Step 3: There are multiple reports you can select. The recommended report would be the first option and select “have not” and “started”. Select Generate Report or Export Report.

Students that have moved out of district, are not eligible to test, took the alternate assessment, or for some other reason will not be testing on AzMERIT will be listed in these reports. These students cannot be removed from TIDE. Ultimately it is the responsibility of the school/district to verify that all eligible students have completed testing.

ADE is aware of the circumstances relating to the potential teacher walkout this week. Since you are responsible for monitoring testing, ADE recommends that you consider the impact that this may have on your testing schedule. ADE does not have the authority to extend the AzMERIT test window beyond April 27 (a four-week test window), per ARS 15-743 Section F.
