Schools and school districts are required, pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes section 15-142, to release pupil directory information by October 31 each year. The statute also requires ADE to develop a model form to assist districts and charters in complying with this requirement. In response to some confusion generated by the recent passage of HB2823 (Laws 2012, Ch. 259) by the Arizona Legislature, the Arizona Department of Education has developed a Memo and a Chart to help charter operators better understand their responsibilities with regard to teacher/principal evaluation. These documents are provided as a service to our charter school customers, but operators should consult their own legal counsel if specific legal concerns arise. In response to feedback received from local education agencies (LEAs) around the state, the department has made several adjustments to the residency documentation form required by ARS 15-802(B).
