Frequently Asked Questions

The error message “Due to exceeding the maximum number of sign in attempts, your account has been temporarily locked.  Please wait 15 minutes and try again.  For further assistance, contact the ADE Support Center. Thank you.” occurs when you either enter your User name or Password incorrectly 5 times in the sign in screen.  If you are not able to wait the 15 minutes for the system to automatically unlock your account, you can contact the ADE Support Center on adesupport@azed.gov.

If you are using I.E. version 8 or greater, then more than likely you have active Pop-up blockers. 

Disable Pop-up Blocking in Internet Explorer:

  1. Click the Tools menu.
  2. Scroll down to “Pop-up blocker.”
  3. Select, “Turn off popup blocker.”

ADEConnect will eventually replace the Common Logon system. As we upgrade ADE systems, they will be moved to ADEConnect. Providing the access to the ADE Systems will be maintained in the Administrative portal by the Entity Administrator. Until the Common Logon systems are moved to ADEConnect, the access to the majority of the ADE Systems will remain with Common Logon.

No. The Entity Admin Portal requires the use of Internet Explorer 8 or newer as the browser. You can still access other ADE systems using Chrome, just not the Entity Admin portal.

The temporary password in your ADEConnect account notification is the current password when you are signing on to ADEConnect for the first time.  Enter your User name and copy and paste the temporary password in to the ‘Password’ field on the sign on screen.  On the next screen, ‘Change Password’, enter the temporary password in the ‘Current Password’ field. The ‘New Password’ field is for the new, secure password of your choosing.  After the successful password update, you will be directed to the sign on screen to enter your User name and new password.

No.  You cannot access the Entity Admin portal using an Apple / Mac computer.  You must use Internet Explorer version 8 or greater.  You can still access your other ADE systems using Apple/Mac, just not the Entity Admin portal.   Please contact the ADE Support Center at 1(866) 577-9636 for further assistance.

The ADEConnect Activity Report is used to see which ADE Systems your LEA / School personnel are accessing in ADEConnect for the entities you manage as the Entity Administrator.  Search by Entity Id, Email address, Activity Date Range and ADE System (application) name.  The report can be exported, for example, as a PDF.  Exporting to MS Word or MS Excel allows you to sort or customize the report to meet your needs.

The Administrative Application Association Report is used to see the relationships to LEAs, schools and ADE Systems you have assigned to people in the Entity Admin portal.  It is a real-time activity snap shot to support your management of people on and off of your entities and the related permissions to ADE Systems.  Only Entity Administrators have access to this report.  Search by Entity Id, Email address or ADE System (Application) name.  The report can be exported, for example, as a PDF.  Exporting to MS Word or MS Excel allows you to sort and customize the report to meet your needs.

This wonderful new feature allows an ‘at a glance’ view to see who is assigned as the Entity Administrator for that particular LEA, school or charter school.  Just click the link and the Entity Administrator name and email address will appear.  Click the email address and instantly send an email to the Entity Administrator with your specific question!

Yes.  You are not automatically the Entity Administrator at the schools associated with the LEA.  You must be assigned as the Entity Administrator individually to all the related schools.  If you are the Entity Admin at the schools, you need to be assigned the Entity Admin at the LEA (if that is appropriate).

A Charter holder under a District will be provided with Move On When Reading access at the Move On When Reading : LEA Approver level.

No. If you are not the Entity Administrator assigned to a particular LEA/school/charter, you  will not be able to add it to yourself or to any one else.  You will have to locate the assigned Entity Administrator and have he/she give you the Entity Admininistrator role for that Entity.  You will then have the authority to add others to that Entity.  If you need further assistance, contact the ADE Support Center, adesupport@azed.gov.

This message indicates that you have not been provided with access to any ADE systems. Please contact your school or district Administration office regarding your ADE systems access through ADEConnect.

Your request immediately gets placed into our ADE Support ticketing system and sent to an ADE Support Center staff member who will contact you as soon as possible.

ADE Acceptable Use Policy: Direct Sign In User Only
Yes. All first time users who access ADEConnect through the sign in page will be presented with the ADE Acceptable Use Policy screen. You must read and accept the policy by clicking the ACCEPT button.

The Entities are sorted alphabetically on the screen. The ADE systems under the Entity are sorted alphabetically as well.

You must refresh ADEConnect to see updates to Entities or ADE systems. Updates will also appear upon your next sign in.

The ‘-‘ is clicked to collapse the listing of ADE systems under an Entity. The ‘+’ is clicked to expand the applications listing. The default view is to Show All of the aADE systems under the Entity.

ADE Acceptable Use Policy: Direct Logon User Only
Yes. The link to the Acceptable Use Policy is located in the menu at the bottom of the Home page.

The link to the Entity Admin Portal will be listed under the Entity just like any other ADE system link. Upon clicking the Entity Admin link, you will be directed to the Home page of the Entity Admin Portal.

  • Assign anyone to a LEA, school or charter school you manage
  • Assign ADE Systems (applications) to yourself under an Entity you manage
  • Assign / remove the ADE Roles for anyone under an Entity you manage
  • Assign / remove other Entity Administrators for an Entity you manage
  • Create new external people for access to the Entities you mange

No. Your password will be maintained at your LEA or school.  It cannot be updated or reset using ADEConnect ‘Register for Password Reset’ or ‘Change Password’ links.

Yes. When you enter your user name and temporary password in the input fields, the Change Password screen will be displayed to change your temporary password. Upon successful password change, you will be directed back to the ADEConnect sign in screen to enter your user name and new password.

Change Password: Direct Sign In Users Only
On your ADEConnect home page, you can update your password using the ‘Change Password’ link prior to the 90 day or 180 day password expiration date. If your password does expire, you can use the Forgot Password link on the Sign In screen to reset your password.  The password will expire 90 days after reset for internal users and 180 days from reset for external users.

Note:

  1. You can only use the ‘Forgot Password?’ function if you have previously completed the Register for Password Reset process. If you have not, contact the ADE Support Center for password reset.

The Forgot Password? link on the ADE Connect sign in screen can be used to reset your password only if you have previously completed the Register for Password Reset process. You will be required to successfully re-answer your security questions and provide a new password before you are given access to the ADE Connect Home page. Note:The Register for Password Reset linked is located on the ADE Connect Home page.

Register for Password Reset: Direct Logon User Only
After accepting the ADE Acceptable Use Policy, the Register for Password Reset form will appear. You will be required to provide your current password and answer predetermined security questions. Registering for password reset enables you to use the Forgot Password? link on the Sign In screen by re-answering the previously answered security questions.

Note:

First time sign in users can bypass the Register for Password Reset form by clicking the ADEConnect link which will route you to the Home page.

ADE Password Policy requires that your password consists of:

  • Password cannot contain your account name or parts of your full name that exceed two consecutive characters
  • Password can only be updated one time in 24 hours
  • Eight characters minimum in length
  • The previous three passwords cannot be reused
  • Three of the four options below must be included:
    • Contains at least one upper case letter
    • Contains at least one lower case letter
    • Contains at least one symbol [example: !,@<#,$,%,*]
    • Contains at least one number [between 0-9]
