Join us for a day focused on creating and experiencing quality mathematical tasks from grades 4 through 8. Participants will learn what makes a quality mathematical task, how to determine the cognitive demand of the task, and how to implement the task at the rigor of the standards. Arizona Mathematics Standards and the Standards for Mathematical Practice will be a focus for all mathematical experiences.

Presidential Awards Nominations

Do you know an outstanding 7th-12th grade mathematics or science teacher? If so, please consider nominating that teacher for a Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).The Presidential Awards are the nation’s highest honors for teachers of mathematics and science (including computer science), and recipients of the award receive $10,000 from the National Science Foundation. Anyone may nominate a teacher to apply for this exciting opportunity. Nominations are accepted until April 1, 2017. For more information or to nominate someone, visit the PAEMST website.
