Detective Work: SOS for SAIS – Advanced & Census Reconciliation Workshops and Webinars

Maintaining special education (SPED) participation data in SAIS can be challenging. There are resources available to help! The advanced SOS for SAIS will cover the Status area in SDDI, the Transaction History tool and the IT Bulletin Board. Note that this session requires some working knowledge of special education in SAIS.

The ultimate goal of census reconciliation is to ensure that the final SPED participation data extracted from SAIS matches the verification letter submission. The Census Reconciliation session will include a review of the procedures along with some interactive case studies.

Both require detective skills. If you feel like you are drowning in either or both of these areas, ESS Data Management will come to the rescue! Bring your magnifying glass and we will bring the life preservers!

LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling)

ADE’s Exceptional Student Services Section is collaborating with the K-12 Academic Standards Section to provide LETRS training in Arizona. The LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) course content is strongly aligned to the Arizona Common Core Standards: Foundational Skills (K-5), Reading Standards for Literature and Informational Text (K-5) and Language Standards (K- 5). National LETRS trainers will provide training to Arizona teachers on LETRS modules 1 through 9. LETRS modules are clearly written and chock full of information. Essential teaching concepts are underscored with engaging questions, problems, and activities that lead to real-world applications. Each module builds on the previous modules, includes review, and ends with a quiz that can be used to evaluate participants’ learning.
