The Professional Development Capacity Building Team’s focus is on systemic approaches to dramatically increase the quality and outcomes of professional learning. Sustained professional learning is essential for everyone who is employed to provide direct or indirect services to students that contribute to their learning. Arizona Department of Education (ADE) professional developers operate as a community of practice within the agency to continually deepen and expand their understanding of what is required to transfer professional learning into improved professional practice. ADE representatives also collaborate with county Education Service Agencies and Regional Centers to advance student learning through research-based, evidence-driven professional learning.
