The Office of English Language Acquisition Services (OELAS) of the Arizona Department of Education is in the process of assembling a committee to serve in an advisory capacity on matters regarding Arizona’s English Language Learner (ELL) students. OELAS looks forward to receiving input from constituents on how OELAS can serve Arizona’s districts and charter schools in the best manner possible.
The Office of English Language Acquisition Services is seeking representatives from diverse parts of Arizona, who have experience in the education of ELL students, to serve on the committee. A minimum of six years of teaching experience is required for selection to the committee.
The committee is expected to be in place by the fall semester of the 2012-2013 school year and will meet on an as-needed basis with flexibility.
The application should be returned by email to the attention of Gerry Haskins at Gerry.Haskins@azed.gov no later than August 31.
