The Arizona Department of Education announces our first Family Engagement Summit. The summit will take place at the Black Canyon Conference Center Friday, December 8 – Saturday, December 9, 2017. The two day summit will be open to all early childhood educators as well as families. The overall focus of the summit will be on high quality family engagement strategies. Our goal is to support programs and families in forming strong partnerships that will improve outcomes for Arizona’s children. Sessions are applicable to both practitioners and families, and will cover topics detailed below:

Exhibitor space is limited to 10 exhibitors. Applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis and approved at the discretion of Arizona Department of Education. When the exhibit space has been filled, exhibitor(s) will be put on a waiting list should there be any openings after the registration deadline passed. Dear Early Childhood Educators (Birth─3rd Grade) and Early Childhood Programs,
IT’S PICTURE TIME! Does your program offer high quality, developmentally appropriate, and culturally and linguistically responsive early childhood experiences where children and their caregivers are deeply engaged in learning? ADE ECE invites you and your program to submit photos for use in the Arizona Early Learning Standards and other ADE early childhood purposes. We are seeking photos that represent our diverse children, families, and educators statewide: High Quality Inclusive Early Learning across Arizona. In Arizona, a high quality preschool program means an early learning program that fully implements to a significant degree the Program Guidelines for High Quality (PGHQ) and quality improvement tools aligned with the statewide quality rating and improvement system Quality First: www.qualityfirstaz.com.
The top 2 exemplary submissions will each receive 1 complimentary registration each to the ADE ECE Summer Institute June 20-22, 2018. Award recipients will be contacted by March 5, 2018 and should plan to attend this conference at the Wigwam Resort in Phoenix. Completed submissions are due via email by

FY 2018 IDEA Preschool allocations are pending final approval of the data sources by the Exceptional Students Services Unit. We anticipate that the grant will be available by the end of September. Original submission deadline will be February 16, 2018.
