The 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant is a federally-funded program that supports after-school community learning centers that operate primarily on school campuses statewide. Services include academic intervention and enrichment activities along with a broad array of youth development opportunities. These after school and summer classes complement the student’s regular school day program. The 21st CCLC programs mainly serve students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools and their families. After school programs help students meet the core standards in academic subjects such as language arts and math. In addition, other educational services are offered to family members of students participating in the program in order to further engage parents in their student’s learning and achievement goals.
To assist 21st Century Community Learning Centers in building and sustaining comprehensive out of school time programs that provide high-quality academic enrichment opportunities for all children, and that meaningfully engage adult family members in helping their children succeed academically.
Calling Peer Review Applicants for Cycle 14 (FY17) Competition
- Peer Reviewers will independently evaluate between 7 and 15 on-line applications during a two week window. You will be able to select the desired amount of applications to read, but ADE will assign applications according to your preference and the competition need.
- Peer Reviewers must have computer and internet access.
- Earn $150 for every quality scored application.

5/11/16 Notification of Selected Peer Reviewers
6/1/16-6/15/16 Two Week Evaluation Window to Read and Score Applications On-Line (Half of the assigned applications’ comments and scores will be due by the end of week 1 on 6/8 by 5pm MST.)

Great! The chance to apply is fast approaching. The Cycle 14 (2016-2017) application is currently being built (or in production). Our objective is to have this application available by mid-March.
Important Announcement: The APR System is now open for data entry.
Profile Data is completed first.
APR data is now reported as aggregated data in three “terms.” For the 2014-2015 APR the reporting windows for each terms’ data entry will be open as listed below.
Federal APR System Reporting Windows:
- Summer 2014: Now through 12/10/15
- Fall 2014: 12/11/15 to 1/6/16
- Spring 2015: 1/7/16 to 2/11/16
Arizona’s terms for APR data collection and reporting:
When the APR system asks for Summer, Fall or Spring data, the data reported for each Arizona 21st CCLC site’s program should be reported within these dates for each “term.”
- Summer: June 1st – July 31st
- Fall: August 1st – December 31st
- Spring: January 1st – May 31st
Outcome data all Arizona grantees must report on:
YES- Arizona grantees report on Math and English grades and Teacher Survey information.
NO- Our state does not report on State Assessment outcomes.
NO- Arizona does not provide Extended Learning Time (ELT) 21st CCLC services, and this should NOT be selected when reporting on Center services. ELT funding is intended to extend school day hours for ALL students at the school as a school wide intervention, whereas Arizona 21st CCLC sites are expected to provide targeted services in their programs, serving primarily the students who need this intervention the most.
