Why Should I Attend the Assessment Summit?
Open to all Arizona educators and educator leaders, this summit will give attendees the opportunity to:
- Earn 6.0 professional development hours
- Receive assessment updates (including PARCC & NCSC)
- Become familiar with new assessment initiatives
- Learn classroom assessment strategies from fellow Arizona teachers
- Network with other Arizona educators, educator leaders, and ADE staff
The Assessment Summit has been reasonably priced at only $45 per participant, including lunch and snacks.

Prescott – Lindsey Connor
Lindsey Connor is a 7th Grade Pre-Algebra teacher at San Tan Elementary, located in Gilbert, Arizona. After completing her fifth year of teaching, Lindsey was recently recognized as the 2012 Higley Unified School District Teacher of the Year by fellow colleagues and school administrators. She now serves as a 2013 Arizona Teacher of the Year Ambassador of Excellence.
Lindsey obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Childhood Education from Ohio University, and her Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Arizona State University. A true believer in continuous education, Lindsey recently enrolled in the National Board Certification program to earn distinguished recognition in the teaching profession.
Lindsey attributes her love of teaching to educators who have made a difference in her life, and is inspired by the simple pleasure of instilling the importance of learning in all of her students.
Vail – Becky Cavacos
Born and raised in Tucson, Becky has taught grades 1-4 for 29 years, 27 of them spent in TUSD, and currently teaches at Borton Magnet School. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona and has mentored many beginning teachers, student teachers and pre-service teachers throughout her career. She was recently named a 2013 AEF Arizona Teacher of the Year Ambassador for Excellence.
