The AZELLA District Test Coordinator is responsible for the AZELLA Assessment.

AzMERIT

AzMERIT is the statewide achievement test. Arizona public school students in Grades 3 through high school will take AzMERIT in English Language Arts and Mathematics at their grade level. Students taking high school level English Language Arts and Mathematics will take AzMERIT End-of-Course assessments that will test their proficiency in these subjects near the end of the course.

         October 24 – December 2, 2016
         *Writing must be completed by November 18, 2016

    Spring 2017
         Computer-Based Test Window

         March 27 – May 4, 2017

         *Writing must be completed by April 21, 2017
         *Grade 3 Reading and Math must be completed by April 28, 2017

         Paper-Based Test Window
         March 27 – April 7, 2017

         *Writing must be scheduled on March 27 or 28, 2017

AIMS Science

AIMS Science will be administered to students in Grades 4, 8, and High School.

Alternate Assessment – MSAA (NCSC) and AIMS A

The State’s Alternate Assessments (AIMS A Science and MSAA ELA and Mathematics) were designed for students with significant cognitive disabilities in Grades 3-8 and high school. Students must meet the eligibility requirements as determined by the student’s IEP team in order to participate in the State’s Alternate Assessments.

  • The MSAA Results Reports for LEAs, Schools, and Students:
    The MSAA Score Reports from the spring 2016 administration will be available for Alternate Assessment Test Coordinators (TCs) only from 08/19/2016 through 09/16/2016. Reports will be accessed through the MSAA Reporting Portal Tab in the MSAA System. Use the MSAA TC User Guide 2016 for step-by-step instructions to download reports in the MSAA System (pages 72 – 75).

  • IEP Teams
    IEP Teams must remember to address assessment eligibility and accommodations for both alternate assessments, AIMS A Science and MSAA (NCSC) Math and ELA.
    NCSC (Math and ELA) assesses eligible students grades 3–8 and grade 11.
    AIMS A (Science) assesses eligible students grades 4, 8, and 10 or second year of high school. Specific accommodations for both instruction and the assessments also should be considered in the student’s annual IEP. Information regarding MSAA (NCSC) accommodations and eligibility criteria can be located on the ADE MSAA (NCSC) webpage under General Information.
