New Integrity Rules for FY19

AzEDS Development has released new Integrity Rule(s) for FY19:

Membership

  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –10125 (The DOR for a membership type C membership must be authorized to serve grades 9-12 and issue a high school diploma, or be an elementary district not within a high school district.)
  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –10126 (If a PCCP membership is submitted at a school which is not an ABOR university or a community college in a community college district, then report the discrepancy as an error.)

SPED

  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –40071 (Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) exit code 10 (Withdrawn by Parent and no Longer enrolled) can only be used if the student is 3 to 5 years old, and enrolled in Preschool (PS), Kindergarten (KG), or Ungraded Elementary (UE).)

Support Program – 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC)

  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –50029 (If student program association record for 21st CCLC program(s) submitted is not within 21st CCLC program year for the given fiscal year then report the discrepancy as an error.)
  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –50030 If student attendance submitted for 21st CCLC program(s) is not within student program association begin and end date then report the discrepancy as an error.)

Post-secondary Concurrent Coursework Program (PCCP)

  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –81001 (If student membership record has only membership type C and no other membership exist at same DOR then report the discrepancy as an error.)
  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –81002 (If any membership for a PCCP student has no section association, then report the discrepancy as an error.)
  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –81003 (For students in PCCP, Course transcript does not exist for the (LocalCourseCode).)
  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –81004 (If student section association with local course code has no course schedule then report the discrepancy as an error. Minimum one day schedule needs to be present for local course code to pass this rule.)
  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –81005 (If planned instructional time for student across all student section association records with same DOR exceeds 1080 mins in one day then report the discrepancy as an error.)
  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –81006 (If student record having membership type C is not in grade 9 to 12 then report discrepancy as an error.)

Integrity rule changes released January 19th, 2018

On 6/19/2018, Development released changes to the following Integrity Rule(s):

Membership:

  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –10026: (Student must be at least 6 years old by January 1st to generate funding for grades higher than kindergarten).
    • Changed to grade 1st-12th.

  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –10122: (Students that are 22 years old and not receiving SPED services are not eligible to state funding).
    • For FY18, changed from Error to Warning.

Accountability:

  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –20002 (Submitted readmission activity does not match the previous withdrawal activity code).
    • R22 code added for FY18 and forward.

  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –20011 (New readmission is prior to the withdrawal of the most recent membership during the fiscal year).
    • R22 code added for FY18 and forward.

  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –20012 (Student must be withdrawn from prior enrollment before being readmitted).
    • R22 code added for FY18 and forward.

Accountability Other:

  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –21001 (Every membership needs an exit date and reason. Please submit a Year End Status or Withdrawal code and exit date).
    • W22 code added for FY18 and forward.

  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –21004 (Every membership needs an exit date and reason. Please submit a Year End Status or Withdrawal code and exit date).
    • W22 code added for FY18 and forward.

  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –21006 (Student with a summer withdrawal has no year-end status from the prior year at the same school).
    • Bug fix for prior year dates.

  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –21010 (If the year end statuses are not between the last instructional day and 6/30(End of FY) then report the discrepancy as an error).
    • New Accountability, other rule for FY18 and forward.

Support Programs:

  • AzEDS Integrity Rule –50013 (The need is not valid for the support program reported. Either the need is not valid or there was no need reported. Please see the Need/Support Program Matrix for valid Support Program/Need combinations).
    • Added validation for ‘Other Giftedness’ Need.

API 4.0 External UAT released

On 4/27/18, API 4.0 External UAT (User Acceptance Testing) released:

External API 4.0 UAT:

  • The API 4.0 External UAT is now available for LEA’s. LEA’s will use the same Key and Secret they used for API 3.0 testing. To request access to the API 4.0 UAT, please submit a ticket through our Self-Service Portal.

Integrity Rule Changes releasing September 26, 2017

Membership:

AzEDS Integrity Rule -10116 states: “The Track submitted for a student’s enrollment record must be for the school the student is attending (JTED, Private School, Public, or Charter) or the Track for the LEA under which the school resides (Private School,Public or Charter).” This rule is currently not working correctly in the AzEDS REST API 3.0. As a short term solution, JTED validations have been disabled for this rule until a long term solution is developed.

Accountability:

AzEDS Integrity Rule -20037 states: “This student was submitted with one of the Summer Withdrawal Codes which are being discontinued. The only code that will be accepted is S7.” This rule has now been disabled in AzEDS.

Membership:

AzEDS Integrity Rule 10091 states: “Absence/Attendance date falls outside the enrollment.” The rule has been enhanced to pass for students who have blocks of up to 10 consecutive, unexcused absences immediately following a withdrawal code of W1, W4 or W5. A bug has also been resolved so the rule will now correctly validate that attendance / absence dates are valid session days.

SPED:

AzEDS Integrity Rule 40067 states: “If a SPED program is submitted for a student without Main SPED School indicator, then report the discrepancy as an error.” Students who were not submitted with a Main SPED School Indicator will now fail this rule as intended.

Membership: AzEDS Integrity Rule 10021 states: “DOA must match the DOR for Open Enrollment.” A small amount of students who had correct enrollment information will now pass this rule.

Accountability: AzEDS Integrity Rule 21005 states: “Summer withdrawal codes other than S7 are only valid between July 1 and the first instructional day.” Students with a withdrawal type of S5 will now pass this rule which in turn will correct the invalid failures for rules -21004 and -21001.

Integrity Rule Changes releasing July 28, 2017

Support Program: AzEDS Integrity Rule 50020 states: “This student may not receive program services for the same support program at more than one LEA at a time.” If a student has three different program records at three unique districts, and two of these records have overlapping dates, then this rule will no longer fail for the district that has correct data.

AzEDS Integrity Rule 50020 states: “This student may not receive program services for the same support program at more than one LEA at a time.” Students who have concurrent support program enrollments at different schools within the same LEA will no longer this rule.

Integrity Rule Changes releasing July 12, 2017

Accountability: AzEDS Integrity Rule 20005 states: “Only one ‘E’ code is allowed for a student/school/grade in a single school year.” This Rule will now allow for more one ‘E’ code if student has enrollment(s) in a non-public school.

DRP: AzEDS Integrity Rule 80031 states: “Monthly progress must be submitted by the 14th calendar day of the subsequent month. Monthly progress is null in a previous month.” This Rule has been modified from an “Error” to a “Warning.”

Membership: AzEDS Integrity Rule 10200 states: “Students who have received a high school diploma may not enroll in a public school.” The Rule now includes the following criteria: “Except for students in enrolled in JTEDs FY17 only, who also have JTED enrollment on February 1, 2016.”

AzEDS Integrity Rule 10082 states: “The absence amount has to be less than the FTE value of the membership for enrollment, withdrawal and readmission days.” This Rule has been modified from an “Error” to a “Warning.”

Integrity Rule Changes as of June 15, 2017

Membership: AzEDS Integrity Rule 10203 states: “Attendance minutes expected in the future should not be reported.” New Rule with Error severity: Prepopulated attendance minutes are not considered valid and can impact average daily attendance for student groups required to submit minutes (PS, homebound, AOI)

AzEDS Integrity Rule 10204 states: “Prepopulated absences are not considered valid and can impact a school’s average daily attendance.” New Rule with Warning severity: Prepopulated attendance minutes are not considered valid and can impact average daily attendance for student groups required to submit minutes (PS, homebound, AOI) so LEAs should be warned about the potential impact.

Accountability Non-payment: AzEDS Integrity Rule 21002 states: “Withdrawal Code W7 (Graduated) requires a student to have an established cohort year.” New Rule with Error severity: Confirming the student has a Cohort record before graduation
