Under a resolution agreement reached with the US Department of Education Office of Civil Rights, The ADE has agreed to certain conditions regarding the identification of English Language Learners. While most of these conditions regard the development of the new version of the Arizona Enlish Language Learner Assessment (AZELLA), there are several actions required of school districts immediately. Accordingly, ADE has distributed a directive outlining the responsibilities of Arizona school districts under this agreement, and the actions ADE will take to assist them in complying.
