For your After School Care Snack program (ASCS) to participate, the school district must operate the NSLP, and the ASCS must provide educational or enrichment activities in an organized, structured, and supervised environment after the end of the school day. The programs must meet State/local licensing requirements, if available, or State/local health and safety standards. All programs that meet the eligibility requirements can participate in the NSLP and receive USDA reimbursement for afterschool snacks. In addition, the ASCS program must be open to all students.
An eligible school operating the ASCS Program may be reimbursed for one meal supplement (or snack) served to an eligible child per day.
