SPED28-1 Report Concerns – UPDATE

The SPED 28-1 report is not showing the correct number of students in some SPED need categories.  We are working on a solution at this time and will update the SPED 28-1 reports and post a notification when they match the SPED 75-1 reports.

In the interim, please continue to check the ADMS 75-1, SPED 75-1, ELL 75-1 and the corresponding 72 reports for accuracy in your data and update your SAIS data as needed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UPDATE:  There is an issue with the SPED28-1 report not displaying all the SPED ADM.  While this information is not being displayed, it does exist in our payment system, so the March 1, 2013 CHAR55-1 and APOR55-1 reports will report the data accurately.  Until we are able to resolve the display issue, please see your SPED75-1 report for the SPED ADM that will reconcile to the 55-1 reports.
AOI FTE Submissions
It has come to our attention that inaccurate information was provided at the most recent ASCUS meeting where a non-ADE individual stated that FTE for AOIs did not need to be submitted.  SAIS requires an FTE to be submitted for each enrollment.
If you have any questions regarding this, please see your account analyst.
For questions regarding your data, please contact your account analyst.
PLEASE NOTE:
JTEDs Should Use Year-End Code “C” to Identify Completers
Integrity was modified for FY 2013 to preclude Joint Technical Education Districts (JTEDs) from reporting a student as having graduated from a JTED. A JTED cannot report a student’s year-end status using code “G” as this causes the graduation rate information that ADE reports to NCES (U.S. Department of Education EDFacts submissions) to be inaccurate.
However, in reviewing the year-end codes, there was no existing year-end code that applied to JTED students. To resolve this issue, ADE’s Research and Evaluation Division has modified the description of year-end code “C” to include JTED completers. The complete description of the code can be found on Pages 6-7 of the Graduation Rate Technical Manual.
EEO-5 Report Update
The 2012 EEO-5 Report, a mandated biennial federal survey reporting summarized employee data, was due on November 30, 2012.  ADE submits the report, on behalf of the districts, for all LEAs who have 100 or more employees.  Due to complications, this report was not submitted by the deadline, but will be submitted by Friday, January 18, 2013.
 If you have received an “EEO-5 First Notice of Violation” letter stating that your data has not been submitted, please disregard it as we have been communicating with the EEO-5 Reporting Center and they are aware that Arizona’s file will be submitted in the next couple of days.
