This 45 Hour SEI Endorsement Completion course has been developed by the Arizona Department of Education’s Office of English Language Acquisition Services (OELAS) to enable classroom teachers, administrators, and other certified personnel to provide differentiated instruction for students whose native language is other than English. The eight-week facilitated course will follow a structured weekly format and will be delivered entirely online.
Participants will cover English Language Development, related classroom strategies and skills as well as legal and historical background information on the SEI Program Model. Teachers will master these concepts by exploring research articles, participating in discussion forums, viewing streaming videos and completing activities incorporating ELD strategies to address the ELL Language Proficiency Standards.
Successful completion of this course fulfills the requirements for the SEI Completion Endorsement.
