Legislative Proposals 2004

There are currently two legislative proposals to change laws effecting kindergarten. One proposes to phase in and fund full-day kindergarten starting with schools that serve the most economically disadvantaged children. The other proposes to mandate that children turn 5 prior to September 1 to attend kindergarten during that school year, with no clause to allow for exceptions.
