The 2013-2014 school year will require full implementation of Arizona’s Common Core Standards at all grade levels. It will be imperative for educators to continue receiving professional development aligned to Arizona’s Common Core Standards. The PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) Summative Assessment System reflecting Arizona’s Common Core Standards in English language arts and mathematics will be implemented during the 2014-2015 school year. It is important for educators to fully engage students in instructional practices that align to Arizona’s Common Core Standards. The Arizona Department of Education will continue to offer professional development that will meet the needs of educators throughout the state.
