OELAS Conference - Participant Registration

Conference registration will open to everyone on August 31st!

 

Over the years, we have heard from our smaller districts and charter school programs indicating that they struggled to register for a seat before the event reaches capacity. With this in mind, we will open registration for the conference with the same process we used last year. 

Here are the two phases: 

PHASE 1:

August 17th by 8:00am: Phase One - The conference registration link will be sent to districts and charter school programs with smaller English learner (EL) populations (fewer than 100 ELs total). To allow for as many districts and charter school programs to attend, we ask that registrations be limited to no more than 5 per entity or charter holder/family/network at this time.

  • The link for conference accommodations will be sent with the conference registration link. OELAS has a room-block at the conference venue. The group room rate is $160.00 (or prevailing Arizona state per diem rate) plus applicable taxes per night (subject to availability).

 

Phase 2: 

August 24th by 8:00am: Phase Two will open with the remaining seats from Phase One, plus about 300 additional seats, will open for all districts and charter school programs for registration. To allow for as many districts and charter school programs to attend, we ask that registrations be limited to no more than 5 per entity or charter holder/family/network at this time. 

  • The link for conference accommodations will be sent with the conference registration link; OELAS has a room-block at the conference venue. The group room rate is $160.00 (or prevailing Arizona state per diem rate) plus applicable taxes per night (subject to availability).

 

All remaining conference seats:

August 31st by 8:00am:

All remaining seats will open for general registration and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until we reach capacity.

 

Registration Details:

Date: December 9-11, 2026 (conference days 1-3)

Location: The Arizona Grand Resort and Spa,
   8000 South Arizona Grand E, Phoenix, AZ 85044

Registration Fee: $500/person (includes breakfast, lunch, and parking each day)

Registration Notes: 

  • Registration will close on November 10th or when full, whichever comes first. 
  • Registration for this event must be completed in the ADE Professional Learning and Development (APLD) system. Participants must have an ADEConnect account to complete the registration. The participant is responsible for ensuring he/she is registered and has paid for this event. The team at OELAS (Office of English Language Acquisition Services) will not register participants.
  • Please verify an accurate email address when registering. Emails are used to communicate conference information and give credit/certificates through the APLD system.

 

Payment Information:

  • Acceptable methods of payment are purchase order (PO), check, or credit card. If paying with a PO or check, an electronic copy is required during the registration process. If paying with a credit card, Visa or Mastercard are accepted. American Express is not accepted.
  • Please note that sending a PO directly to the Arizona Department of Education does not constitute a completed registration for this event.
  • Purchase Order (PO) - A valid PO is required.

The following criteria should be noted on the PO (requisitions are not allowed):

  • Event Name
  • Event Dates (if blanket PO, specify fiscal year)
  • Participant names (if blanket PO, total number of participants)
  • Event cost
  • Signature of Approval
  • Registration must match PO detail. 
    • If anything is missing, ADE Accounting will reject the registration and the participant will need to re-register for the event.
  • Invoices are published to the participants APLD account.
  • Immediately after registering, you will receive an email stating that your registration is "PENDING" verification of the purchase order or check. ADE will complete the verification process within 10 days. Once the verification process is complete, you will receive another email stating that your registration is "CONFIRMED." The confirmation email secures your spot for the event.
     

Please note that ADE's registration system (APLD) does not allow for a waitlist. In the event that someone cancels their registration, a seat will open in the system. These seats will be open on a first-come first first-served basis.
