OELAS Conference - Pre-Conference Training

We are excited to share that our partners with ELPA21 will be facilitating a full-day pre-conference training on December 8th!

Formative Assessment for English Learners (Level 1) Workshop

The Formative Assessment Level 1 Workshop provides a thoughtful and thorough framework for monitoring the progress of English learners, with student strengths at the center of the process. In addition to becoming familiar with the components of an effective formative assessment framework, participants will learn how to identify, collect, and act upon evidence of language development. Participants will also acquire new methods for embedding formative assessment practices within instruction, allowing for real-time feedback and a more accurate understanding of students’ progress towards language proficiency and content mastery.

If attending the full conference event, the ELPA21 will be present to facilitate sessions. Once of the options will be on Formative Assessment Practices, which will touch on some similar ideas but connect nicely to this pre-conference training.
