Supporting documentation and applications may be submitted to the Arizona Department of Education - Certification Unit via regular mail or our online educator portal, My Certification Portal

What makes an official transcript official?

  • Paper copy on security paper from the institution, is designated as official, and all security features are present.
  • Electronic transcripts sent directly from the institution or clearinghouse to the Arizona Department of Education ([email protected]), is designated official and all security features are present.
  • Electronic transcripts sent directly from the institution or clearinghouse to the Arizona Department of Education through Parchment are designated as official. 

What must be sent directly from an institution? (to [email protected])

  • Official electronic transcripts (from the institution, clearinghouse, or through Parchment are accepted).
  • Verification of Teaching Experience forms. (Sent to the online Contact Form)

What can be scanned and submitted by the applicant to AzEDCert?

  • Official exam score reports that denote "Pass" or "Passed."
  • Letters from employers or institutions on official letterhead and signed that may demonstrate training or clarify coursework.
  • Course descriptions/catalog pages if needed/requested.
  • Copy of IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Institutional Recommendation.

What can be submitted by mail from the applicant?

  • Applications for services / Institutional Recommendation.
  • Copy of IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Official transcripts on security paper from the institution, which is designated as official, and all security features are present.
  • Official exam score reports that denote "Pass" or "Passed".
  • Letters from employers or institutions on official letterhead and signed that may demonstrate training or clarify coursework.
