Youth Mental Health First Aid is a 6 hour virtual training that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in youth. This training gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to children and adolescents (ages 6-18). You will learn about the importances of early intrvention, risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.
Who Should Take it? Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed for teachers/educators, paraprofessionals, school staff , coaches, school counselors, caregivers, youth group leaders, parents, and people who work with children and youth.
