Curious about the GRC approach to s3-D cience instruction? Join this webinar!

*For Middle School Educators*

Join us for this professional development webinar where we will explore the Gather, Reason, Communicate (GRC) Instructional Framework and dive deeply into one middle school GRC lesson. Through this instructional framework, students use the science and engineering practices to gather information, gain understanding through reasoning, and communicate arguments for why or how their evidence supports their explanation.

We will also explore the #Going3Dw/GRC Website and the Gather, Reason, Communicate (GRC) lessons available for use. Participants will experience this approach to sensemaking through engaging in a Middle School (7th Grade) Life Science Lesson that correlates to the 7th grade Arizona Science Standard: 7.L1U1.9.

Objectives of learning experience:

Become familiar with and experience a lesson that utilizes the Gather, Reason, Communicate (GRC) approach to sensemaking

Explore a few digital strategies to help students to gather evidence to construct and revise explanations

Deepen understanding of the 3-dimensional approach to science teaching and learning & how this approach connects to the AzSS
