Student Artwork

The IDEA Conference Committee is seeking original artwork created by students with IEPs for display at this year’s IDEA conference. The theme, Rise Up: Reimagining and Transforming Educational Practices, celebrates current strategies, expectations, and opportunities for youths and young adults with disabilities to make meaningful and successful transitions to adulthood. All entries will be acknowledged by the Arizona Department of Education/Exceptional Student Services.

Artwork criteria and additional details can be found on the 2022 IDEA Conference Artwork Entry Form.

Important dates: Submit digital artwork by May 20, 2022. Physical pieces must be received in person by August 31, 2022. An Artwork Entry form must be received for submitted artwork to be considered.

Please share the Call for Student Artwork flyer with students and their families.

Secondary Transition Services Awards

The IDEA Conference Committee is also excited to announce that nominations are now being accepted for this year’s Arizona Secondary Transition Services Awards!

On behalf of IDEA Conference Committee and other partnering agencies, you are invited to submit your nominations for this year's Secondary Transition Services Awards that will be presented at Arizona’s 2022 IDEA Conference.

It is important for us to recognize some of the many successes in the provision of transition services that occur each year across Arizona, but we can’t do it alone. We need your nominations to identify individuals that exceed expectations! After reading the information below, submit your nomination for the Arizona Secondary Transition Awards.

Nominate a youth or young adult to receive this award.

  1. Community-Based Nomination

Do you know of an individual (an employee, a manager, or a community business owner) who has superior experience or skill in the provision of secondary transition services? Does this person exceed expectations in offering the students and/or young adults with disabilities of Arizona an opportunity to connect with community-based experiences?

Nominate an individual, an employee, a manager, or a community business owner to receive this award.

  1. School-Based Nomination

Do you know a PEA staff person who is an example to others in the provision of superior secondary transition services?

Nominate a certified staff, classified staff, or support staff member, a related service provider, or an administrator to receive this award.

  1. Secure Care Nomination

Do you know of a secure care staff member who is an example to others in the provision of superior secondary transition services?

Nominate a secure care certified staff, classified staff, or support staff member, a related service provider, or an administrator to receive this award.

After choosing a category, you will need to provide basic demographic information about the candidate’s background, strengths, and his or her outstanding participation in the Secondary Transition process. The summary is intended to showcase how the individual has exceeded expectations.

Thank you in advance for your support in recognizing individuals for their excellent work in the area of secondary transition.

Nominations are due by Friday, May 6, 2022. Awardees will be notified by Friday, June 3, 2022.

Please share the Secondary Transition Services Awards flyer.
