Grants Management's Training Unit is the newest addition to our department. The Training Unit developed from the Technology Unit with which it still works very closely especially when testing and troubleshooting Grants Management Enterprise (GME) applications. The vision for this unit is to expand and provide more in-person classes, including professional development opportunities for Grants Management staff members.
Our trainers are always eager to provide information about the GME system, grants-related processes, and other fiscal information pertaining to Local Education Agencies (LEAs), entities and State Education Agency. The Training Unit conducts training sessions onsite at ADE, LEAs' locations, various conferences, and webinars that are recorded for future reference. The training materials are housed in GME User Resources/Training folder located in GME's Grants Management Resource Library.
Items for which the Grants Training Unit is responsible:
Two of the most common training types are webinars and in-person classes. Training materials include, but are not limited to, training recordings, mini-handbooks, catalogs, course materials, quick reference guides (QRG), fast facts, and PowerPoint presentations.
All upcoming sessions (webinars, in-person training, etc.) are advertised through Grants Management Enterprise (GME). under the Training Schedule. Training schedules are regularly emailed to all GME users and they are featured in the newsletter.
LEA or entity user will log into ADEConnect and select Event Management System (EMS). Users can then review and register for the training options and sessions. For more information on how to register and/or cancel a registration, please see the EMS Quick Reference Guide.
LEA or entity user does obtain a certificate after completing any class that provides one or more credit hours. Participants of select in-person classes may receive a custom certificate outside of the EMS system.
If an LEA or entity would like to request an in-person training, an individual can contact Grants Management at (602) 542-3901, Option 1.
