Delayed Transition for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 AzEDS results for funding

SUBJECT: Current Year Funding Update

Fiscal year 2018-2019 ADM, SPED, and ELL numbers continue to climb.  (see comparison chart for statewide ADM figures)

Initial implementation of the AzEDS Calendar application has impacted instructional calendar collections this year for both School and Charter Districts (Districts) and we are still assisting Districts with these issues. Due to these implementation issues and now resolved Integrity problems, it has been determined that the transition to use current Fiscal Year 2018-2019 AzEDS results to calculate ADM state aid payment will be delayed until the November 1^st payment.

While over 400 Districts are approaching their FY 2018 ADM values, of which over 200 are exceeding, others have not met expected ADM values due to calendar issues. There is insufficient time to determine which Districts have been impacted by these issues in time to calculate the October 1^st, 2018 state aid payment.

30 Districts for which the September 4 payment was based on current Fiscal Year 2018-2019 AzEDS results, will be funded again on FY 2018-2019 AzEDS results.  All other LEAs will be funded based on Fiscal year 2017-2018 ADM or Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Estimated Counts.

As our legacy Charter Payment System does not provide an option to use estimated counts when actual 40^th or 100^th day ADM, SPED, and ELL numbers exist, we will not be pushing AzEDS results and generating the legacy reports (ADMS46-1, SPED28, ELLS28) this month.

Estimated Counts for Charter Districts is open until 9/11/2018 if updates are needed.
