Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream is reflected in the modern-day terms equity, diversity, and inclusion. These terms must live in our hearts, souls, and minds- beyond the day and month in which we honor his life and legacy. The dream will be actualized when we are collectively consistent, courageous, and committed to the goals of equity daily in our personal and professional roles and responsibilities. In order to grow, we must let go of the status quo and its creation of inequitable systems. We must stretch ourselves to challenge our comfort in remaining in a divisive and inequitable systems. We must, as a country, unite, investin and facilitate long-lasting changes of our current structures to engender Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream into an American reality.
