  • Wed, May 12 2021 - Wed, May 12 2021  • Virtual
  • K-12 Educator & School Excellence Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Post-Secondary School Support & Improvement Social Emotional Learning

School counselors work with all students in the areas of academic achievement, career development, and social/emotional learning.

Multiple events over the past two years have highlighted the need for school counselors. With the addition of school counselors to the School Safety Grant, Arizona is working to increase the number of school counselors to ensure our students have the support they need to be successful in school. The implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program is crucial to ensure all students receive the benefit of having a school counselor. This happens when the school counselor/administrator relationship is strong, the role of the school counselor is protected, and data is used to drive decision making.

Join ASA and AzSCA on this webinar as ADE moderates a conversation with four experts to showcase how school counselors and school administrators collaborate. This collaboration leads to an increase in attendance, test scores, and graduation rates with a decrease in discipline incidents and behavior issues. Come learn how this relationship is the foundation for the implementation of a comprehensives chool counseling program which has a positive effect on
school climate and culture.
