2021 College Decision Day: Senior Spotlight

My name is MacKenzie Butcher and I am going to be attending Northern Arizona University (NAU) in the fall! I am really excited to be up there and experience a full Flagstaff winter. 

I took a lot of time to decide and finally choose NAU over the other in-state schools. I chose NAU because, more than any other school, it is a true "home away from home." I did not want to go to a school just to go to it -- it needed to feel COMFORTABLE too, like a place I could really focus on finding myself in. 

NAU is amazing because I have close relatives in Flagstaff, so I can visit when I need to and it is only 20 minutes away. Also, Flagstaff has very clear air, which will make playing sports and staying in shape even easier. NAU gives me the out-of-state experience I want with the comfort of still being close to my family. 

I plan to major in business with a minor in either music education or music performance. I look forward to going to NAU and want to thank all of the people and non-profits that helped me in Phoenix, including College Depot and Be A Leader Foundation.
