It was determined through feedback from arts education stakeholders that there was a need to create instructional resources to support educators navigating the implementation of Social Emotional Learning and the Academic Standards in the Arts in classrooms with fidelity. Through collaborations with arts educators in K-12, higher education, and the Arizona Department of Education, Opening and Closing Rituals, Matrices of Ideas, and Sample Lesson Plans were created. The work was grounded in supporting the Arizona Academic Standards in the Arts, the Arizona Social Emotional Learning Competencies, and aims to provide scaffolded and ready-to implement resources for new and experienced teachers. Please note that the words highlighted in red designate specific terminology that can be found in the NCAS glossaries for each artistic discipline.
