134 Arizona High Schools to Administer Arts Seal

Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, participation in the State Seal of Arts Proficiency program in the state has grown in the 2020-2021 school year by 150 percent. Participating high schools have chosen to prioritize a pathway for students’ creative expression & the development of their artistic literacy as essential to their educational experience this school year.

Signed into law last year on May 14th by Governor Doug Ducey and adopted by the State Board of Education October 28th, R7-2-321, the State Seal of Arts Proficiency, is awarded to graduating seniors who complete minimum arts pathway requirements throughout their high school career including:

  • 4 Credits of Arts/Creative Industries CTE Credits
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or Higher in Qualifying Credits
  • Extracurricular Hours
  • A Capstone Project

 

This year 39 Districts and Charters representing 134 schools across the state have chosen to provide this diploma pathway celebrating graduates who demonstrate mastery & sequential study in arts education. Participating LEAs include:
