Science Standards Revision – September Update

On September 6, the Science Standards Revision Working Group made great progress in revising Arizona’s Science Standards. A total of 27 Arizona educators participated, representing 2 institutes of higher education, 24 districts/schools, including 2 charter schools and 1 private school. Participants were from 7 Arizona counties: Apache, Graham, Maricopa, Navajo, Pima, Pinal, and Yuma.

We are still accepting applications from K-12 educators, post-secondary science content and science education researchers/instructors and parents and community members to serve on the working groups. New working group members are selected to participate throughout the entire revision process.

Would you like to get more involved with K-12 Science Education? Apply today to serve as a parent or community volunteer on the K-12 Science Standards Focus Group. The ADE is now accepting applications from parents and community members from across the state that are interested in contributing to the revision of the K-12 Science Standards. The first focus group is scheduled to meet in mid-October.

Science Standards Revision – July Update

On July 13-14, the Science Standards Revision Working Group convened to continue the process of revising Arizona’s Science Standards. A total of 33 Arizona educators participated, representing 2 institutes of higher education, 31 districts/schools, including 1 charter school and 2 private schools. Participants were from 6 Arizona counties: Gila, Maricopa, Navajo, Pima, Pinal, and Yuma.

A total of 25 Arizona educators participated, representing 3 institutes of higher education, 20 districts (21 schools), and 1 charter school. Participants were from 5 Arizona counties: Apache, Coconino, Maricopa, Pima, and Yavapai.
