SOS for Annual Special Education Data Collection – Workshops and Webinars

All public education agencies (PEAs) that have served special education students during the 2013-14 school year are required to submit Annual Special Education (SPED) Data information to the Arizona Department of Education (ADE).

If your PEA has NO student data that qualifies for inclusion in the Annual SPED Data Collection online application, please alert ADE/Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Data Management in writing.

The Annual SPED Data Collection consists of the following sections: Exit, Discipline, Personnel, Teacher Attrition Rate Survey, Preschool Transition, and Parentally Placed Private School Students.

Training for this mandatory data collection will be offered via webinars and regional workshops

To register for webinars, open the flyer and click on the date you wish to attend.

Novice Users

The novice session will be of greatest benefit to PEA personnel who are new to submitting Annual SPED Data Collection information. This webinar will be divided in two parts; you will need to register for each webinar separately.

Advanced Users

The Advanced session will detail specific changes from the previous year’s data collection for those already familiar with this data collection process.

Preschool Transition

This webinar is for PEAs that serve preschool age children and that are required to complete the Preschool Transition Report within the Annual SPED Data Collection online application.

Secure Care

This webinar is reserved for personnel from secure care schools, i.e., the Arizona Department of Corrections, the Arizona
Department of Juvenile Corrections, county juvenile detention centers, county jail facilities, or county accommodation districts that serve detained / incarcerated youth with disabilities.

Approved Private Schools

This webinar is for reserved for personnel from approved private schools who are required to complete the Personnel Report within the Annual SPED Data Collection online application.

Regional Workshops

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The target audience for the regional workshops is the novice user. However, these workshops are also open to advanced users who wish to receive a “refresher” on this data collection. All data requirements will be covered.
