To assess and monitor:

• Knowledge concerning the risks of smoking tobacco
• Attitudes regarding smoking tobacco
• Tobacco use behaviors

• Arizona Revised Statute (A.R.S.) §41-2416

(v). Frequency:

• Biennial (Odd numbered years)

(vi). Survey Design:

• Multistage Random Sample (By schools and classes within school) Students in fifty percent of the sampled classes are asked to complete the YRBS. Students in the other fifty percent of the sampled classes are asked to complete the AYTS.

(vii).Unit of Analysis:

• Students in grades 9-12
