Upcoming ELD Summits

In the coming months, OELAS is providing an ELD Summit which includes three separate professional learning opportunities:

  • SEI New Teacher Academy: This two-day workshop will provide teachers new to the SEI classroom with an overview of the requirements of the four-hour SEI Model and educational practices that support language acquisition. Participants will actively engage with strategies that support reading, writing, grammar, oral English conversation, and vocabulary instruction are aligned to the English Language Proficiency Standards.
  • SEI Continuing Teacher Academy: This one-day workshop will provide continuing SEI classroom teachers with educational practices that support language acquisition. Participants will actively engage with strategies that support reading, writing, grammar, oral English conversation, and vocabulary are aligned to the English Language Proficiency Standards.
  • ILLP Teacher Academy: This one-day workshop will provide departmentalized content teachers with educational practices and differentiation strategies to support English Learners whom receive English language services through the use of an Individual Language Learner Plan (ILLP). Participants will actively engage with strategies to increase EL participation in the mainstream classroom and aligned to the English Language Proficiency Standards.

  • Flagstaff Unified District: July 11th and 12th
  • Washington Elementary District: July 16th and 17th
  • Bullhead City Elementary School District: August 9th and 10th
  • Somerton School District: August 21st and 22nd
  • Amphitheater Public Schools: August 29th and 30th
  • Mesa Public Schools: September 20th and 21st

Additional Dates scheduled but not yet available for registration:

  • Chinle Unified School District: August 13th and 14th
  • Dysart Unified School District: August 30th and 31st
